Peter Mansell provided the clarity that I have long been waiting for – from my tutor who is unfortunately ill and unable to reply and from OCA, whom I have given up on receiving any timely answers. Looking at the unique approach that Mansell undertook for his project – Landscapes – comes as a breath of fresh air when you are blown away by something very simple yet so unique that one could possibly not imagine that it could be done in such a manner. A very evocative approach to an assignment, one that still holds great meaning and forces the viewer to think. A fresh and unique way to read into a brief and thereby acting as a sign that I needed to convincingly go ahead with my assignment. Thank you Peter Mansell.
Jodie Taylor reinstated the fact that presentation of work is best suited in a way that enhances it or relates and retraces it to its origin. Although the blog is no longer there, I managed to see a few pictures posted by other OCA students on their blogs via google search. The images instantly transport one to the bygone era that she has chosen to depict. It reminds one of their own childhood for sure. The 6×4″ format and a small black album that she used to present her work were a great way to enforce that your work does not stand different from the way its presented. It should be the whole package. Her project name is well suited to the kind of work that she has done.
